I was going through my collection of glossies when I came upon the August "07" issue of Nylon Mag and ran upon something rather titillating. I had to share this with you all. It's to my knowledge that stylist and designers who use vintage fashions as an starting point really understand the art of fashion design. Ashley Watson is the epitome of vintage art. Ashley holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. After studying design in Vancouver and also interning for Libertine in New York, she traveled back home to her native Canada where she branched out on her own to open a fashion business. The socially responsible designer came into the idea of using vintage leather goods as a catalyst.
Ashley finds her material at local thrift stores and consignment shops. She churns out elaborately designed bags, wallets, and accessories that speak modernism with true taste and a side of personal style. She uses leathers of all cuts, styles, and colors from a washed jade green to fine wine red. Her designs bring back the ideal of craftsmanship and true talent. Ashley is definitely a accessories designer to look out for in the future. Take heed and check out this true designer. Let go of your faux fashion celebrity "IT BAGS" and get yourself something with soul and start a trend of your own. CHECK HER OUT!!!

I love the designer you featured and I totally agree about the vintage art/fashion--they took their time to put beautiful peices together, whereas today, the majority of these designers seem to do lots of what most anyone can.
Great work J. Graham :)
