Delisa Parker

Aster Shum as the photographer and Jennifer Brown as the make-up artist

Going through my mail as usual, I received an email from a designer named Delisa Parker of Delise' Ana Fashion from Los Angelo's.
As a female designer, I'm always curious of what up coming female designers are creating. I decided to check her website and I was shock at what my eyes saw. Her work was original, different and fashionable, a mixture of Alternative/Rock Gothic couture.
A perfect candidate to crown as Undiscover Magazine next talk about female designer.

Tell us who Delisa Parker is?
Where should I start.... I am a lil Gullah Gal from Beaufort , South Carolina . (smiles). I am the youngest of 5 born to a preacher and a school teacher. I am most definitely a risk taker and I know no boundaries. At an early age the word NO and CAN'T diminished from my vocabulary.

Introduce your line Delise' Ana?
Fashion design is defined as the applied art dedicated to clothing and lifestyle created within the cultural and social influences of a specific time. Delise' Ana is a name that holds strength. Each piece is carefully, designed, created and constructed by hand. My line is that of a risk-taking woman who knows what she wants. A free-spirit with attitude meant to be taken seriously.

Where did you get your inspiration?
When I am designing silhouettes, colors, and kinds of materials that will be used , are based on celebrities. This line was inspired by the very talented artist Rhianna. With most pieces I create, I keep an artist in mind. When I am constructing, sketching, sewing, music is a must have, so most of my lines are designed for music artists. Each piece is much like a great music video in that respect, visually stimulating and an enigma to the eye all while staying with you and never leaving like hit song.

Who do you see wearing your line?
I have a style that can make any woman look as though she should be on a runway. Fashion should not discriminate, against race, SIZE, or age. Delise’ Ana is for all women of social distinction. But I certainly have a fearless headstrong fashion-forward woman in mind.

Looking at your work, I get the sense of Alternative/Rock/Gothic couture mix in one. Is that how you want your line to be view?
This line yes, but as a new designer, I love to challenge myself. Each line I create has a theme, but each piece still embraces the elegance of Delise' Ana. Although, I just don’t see myself as a one dimensional designer. All great artists find ways to re-invent themselves. I’ll leave it up to my audience to try and guess what my line will give next.

Tell us something about you or your line that nobody can read anywhere?
uh uh uh... (lol) I am ABSOLUTELY addicted to L.A’s fabric district. I think I would know the fabrics shops with my eyes closed. My friends won’t even go with me anymore. lol
